Atlas from Space: Plan of Hellenistic Theater of Pergamum

The famous Hellenistic theater of Pergamum was built in the third century BCE with a final seating capacity of 10,000. This theater is famous as having the steepest cavea in the ancient world. This theater apparently served as the focal point for the organization of the other buildings on the acropolis, since they appear to be arranged in concentric ovals around it. Several other theaters were also built in Pergamum.
